On Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 February there will be another chance to meet Gérald at the 'Weekend de l'Amateur de Vin' organised by the Rotary Club and held at the Halles des Expositions, Evreux.

Les Puces de Montsoreau - Flea Market

Every 2nd Sunday of the month the picturesque town of Montsoreau holds its famous flea market, brocante, and this weekend was no exception !

Although numbers were a little thin on the ground to normal, the setting along the bord de la loire with the glorious sunshine made braving the cold worthwhile.


Set along the edge of the Loire river venders and visitors braved temperatures of -9 to amble amongst the stalls of antiques, restored furniture and other goodies.

A January to Remember !

La Bellevue and Annie's House took on a very different appearance yesterday as we woke to a dusting of snow and freezing temperatures !
Had Augustin been older we would have enjoyed building un petit bonhomme de neige with him but this year he stayed inside enjoying the warmth and log fire.
As pretty as the snow is today temperatures are registering as low as -14 ! And there is talk of more to come....ooh la la, quelle pensée !!

The Great French Decanter Fine Wine Encounter - London, 21st February 2009

There will be another opportunity to meet Gérald, this time in London at 'The Great French Decanter Fine Wine Encounter' exhibition, due to be held at The Landmark Hotel, London, NW1 on Saturday 21st February 2009.

Carefully selected by Decanter, Gérald will be one of 300 wine exhibitors representing the French wine regions from Bordeaux to the Loire.

The Loire Valley Wine Festival - Angers, 2nd, 3rd & 4th February 2009

In early February you can meet Gérald at the annually held 'Salon des Vins de Loire' in Angers, Maine-et-Loire (49) and experience a dégustation of the AOC Saumur appellation wines.

Open to the general public on Wednesday 4th you can visit 600 exhibitors from the 3rd largest wine producing region in France.

Whilst preparations got underway chez nous for New Years Eve, the fourth member of our little tribe, Biscotte, made himself comfortable on the fire logs.

2009 was welcomed in by the village with fireworks and to the sound of church bells. Happy 2009 to you all !
