After much talk the arrival of the 69th AOC appellation in France is here - AOC Saumur Le Puy Notre Dame.

Well Brad, if you remenber the cuvée Domaine Red Paleine?? Well this cuvée will be now under AOC PUY NOTRE DAME starting for 2008 only...
The difference from Cuvée Domaine and AOC PND, Longer macération (up to 21 days for AOC PND, 14 days for the Domaine red... Yelding reduced too..
The aim basically for this new appellation is to make a wine with more body and can be considered as "vin de garde"... Next time we meet I will make you taste one or 2...

Wow, I'm not sure I understand everything, but I like the sound of it.
We still have some 2007 Cuvée de Printemps and some bottles of 2005 Moulin des Quints. If this wine that you refer to as 'with more body' will be anything like the latter, I know I'm going to like it! Yum, yum!!
